Diva Cup: Menstrual Talk

The Diva Cup is changing our relationship with our monthly visitor into a positive one. No need to go to the store and buy pads and tampons. Feeling gross with a bulky pad, or dealing with tampons that have chemicals and pesticides that are absorbed into such a vascular part of our bodies. We have had our periods for such a long time, and we are just finding out what we are putting into our bodies. The best part is the 12 hour wear and not worry about toxic shock syndrome like traditional tampons.

How It Works

There are different sizes:

Model 0: New to the world of periods and 18 years or under.

Model 1: For those under 30 years old who have never delivered vaginally or by caesarean section

Model 2: For those age 30 and over and/or those who have delivered vaginally or by caesarean section

However, these are just recommendations, there are different vaginal sizes so pick which fits best for you.

Insertion: wash hands and find a comfortable position, U- fold or push down.

Carrying Case for a secret way to hold your cup and keep it clean.

How to Remove

Wash hands, find a comfortable position and pull on the stem similar to the string of a tampon and its out.

My Experience

Prior to this I used organic tampons but I am always looking for better ways to improve to a more natural lifestyle. The first time I tried this I made sure I was home to make sure I liked how it felt, to make sure to prevent any leakage, and a clean environment. The last place I would want to learn is at work in the hospital. It can be tricky to learn the insertion process the first few times. Once you get the trick, it is easy insertion from that point on. The manual shows you two easy options and the clean up is very simple. Its been 3 months now and I truly love it. It’s perfect for summertime, no need to worry about tampons and the water they absorb when you’re trying to enjoy the beach.
