DIY Natural Air Freshener

Air Fresheners have been around for a really long time and the advertisements claim they will give your home or office a clean and healthy smelling vibe. The ingredients of these products is like reading a science text book. They contain phthalates and many other hazardous chemicals such as formaldehyde, propellants, solvents, benzene, and synthetic musks, etc. If you can not pronounce it or if it does not come from nature you should not be breathing it into you body.  And then we wonder why there is an increase in respiratory issues like asthma or allergies. This is the perfect alternative to chemical spray bottles or synthetic candles.

Natural Air Freshener Recipe

1 Spray Bottle

Fill with 3/4 Water

Several drops of Essential oils of your choice

Lavender , Eucalyptus , Peppermint Lemon , OnGuard , Serenity

Shake and generously spray

It is as simple as that. You do not have to put all the essential oils in the same bottle. I like to choose 1-3 of the essential oils and make a new smell every time the bottle is empty to give a new fresh smell. I have also noticed that the smell does last longer than the commercial, store bought brands. And the best part is that it is safer for our families and pets to breathe in. You may also use an oil diffuser as well if you don’t want to spray the scents on your fabrics or furniture.
